Heaped up beneath them
The gods smelt the savour
They smelt the sweet savour
And assembled like flies

Rottened has the Earth
As a fruit on the ground
Maggots eat its dark pulp
That the seeds may come out

Too long under the sun, sugar melts and liquifies

What once was sweet
Is now death-bitter
Only so can new life rise

They bound him and held him
Imposed the penalty and cut off his blood

He created mankind from his blood
Who had mercy upon the captive gods

For their forgiveness did he create mankind
Imposing the toil of the gods on man

From blood and clay
A throw away race
The gods spat life
Unto the human slaves

Made to function as manual labor
Follow basic orders
Given to them

Men became as gods, knowers of good and evil

Sleep was no longer possible
By reason of babel
The uproar of mankind became intolerable

And all that was bright was turned into darkness
In whose nostrils was life, all in the dry land died

The gods, all humbled, sat and weep
Without offerings there was nothing to eat

Instead of making a flood, let a lion come
A jackal come, let a famine occur, that the country may be devoured

Instead of a flood, let the Plague-god come and the people overwhelm
Let them live, so to bitter their freedom from the Garden of Eden
